The Library

Being an It Girl has always meant more than just being fashionable or famous. It’s about capturing attention, inspiring others, and leaving a mark on the culture of their time. Even though I'm a man and much of my perspective is biasedly influenced by the male gaze, I want to showcase women whose influence comes from their actions, ideas, or leadership—rather than conventional beauty or preconceptions of female power. However, it's interesting to state that the origin of the "It Girl" definition, according to wikipedia, is "an attractive, well-known young woman who is perceived to have both sex appeal and a personality that is especially engaging", which makes looks something of the matter.
